Frequently Asked Questions
How much do your kittens cost?
Our tiny woodland adventurers generally range from $3,000 (female) to $3,500 (male).
Raising a healthy Maine Coon is a bit like tending an enchanted forest. There are no shortcuts. Between health testing, annual echocardiograms, hip x-rays, DNA testing, premium nutrition, veterinary care, and endless kitten cuddles, a tremendous amount of care and money goes into every kitten we raise.
Do you have a waitlist?
Sometimes! The easiest way to stay informed is by submitting an application and following our social media pages.
Think of it as joining the Dreamwoods trail map. You’ll be among the first to hear when new litters arrive and tiny woodland adventurers begin searching for their forever forests.
Can I visit the cattery?
To protect the health of our cats and kittens, we operate as a closed cattery.
As much as we’d love to host woodland tours, tiny kittens come with tiny immune systems and germs travel much more easily than squirrels through the woods. While we don’t offer regular visits, we happily provide photos, videos, and video calls so you can watch your future kitten grow.
Do you health test?
Absolutely.
While we’d love to believe forest magic protects every cat, we prefer to rely on science.
Every breeding cat in our program undergoes extensive health screening, including regular echocardiograms, hip evaluations, DNA testing, respiratory screening, and fecal testing. We believe ethical breeding means making thoughtful decisions long before a kitten is ever born.
Beautiful cats are wonderful. Healthy cats are essential.
Where do your cats live?
Right here with us.
Our cats are family members first and breeding cats second. They spend their days lounging in sunny windows, supervising household activities, stealing our seats the moment we stand up, and generally ruling the Dreamwoods kingdom.
No cages. No buildings full of cats. Just spoiled Maine Coons living their best lives.
When can my kitten come home?
Our kittens leave for their forever forests between 12-14 weeks of age or older.
Those extra weeks are important. During this time they learn confidence, social skills, litter habits, and all the important lessons a young Maine Coon needs before setting off on their own adventure.
What comes home with my kitten?
Your kitten will arrive with:
A clear wellness exam
Age-appropriate vaccinations and dewormer
Toys, various comforts and a carrier
A nutrition guide and familiar foods
30 days of free pet insurance
A few goodies to help with the transition
Lifetime breeder support
And perhaps most importantly, a tiny piece of Dreamwoods to take home with them.
Do you sell breeding rights?
In most cases, kittens are placed as cherished family companions.
Our focus is preserving healthy, well-tempered Maine Coons through careful, ethical breeding practices.
What if I have questions after bringing my kitten home?
You never stop being part of the Dreamwoods family.
Whether your kitten is 12 weeks old or 12 years old, we’re always happy to answer questions, celebrate milestones, and admire photos of your giant fluffy woodland creature.
Fair warning: we love updates.
