Meet Alice.

At first glance, Alice appears to be the unofficial head of Dreamwoods Security. New arrivals are greeted with a stern inspection process, several strongly worded stares, and the general impression that they may not survive the week.

Fortunately, Alice’s bark is much worse than her bite.

Within a few days, she can usually be found cuddling the very cats she was recently interrogating. Researchers have concluded that Alice does not actually dislike newcomers. She simply prefers to establish authority before becoming their best friend.

When not overseeing social affairs, Alice serves as the Dreamwoods Director of Avian Surveillance. Thanks to her remarkable attention to detail, she is almost always the first to spot visitors at the bird feeder.

The birds have expressed concerns regarding this arrangement.
